This privacy policy sets out how Bear Creek Adventures (the Company) uses and protects any information that it acquires from you.
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requires the Company to ensure that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
The Company may change this policy from time to time by updating this page, which you should check to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from June 2020.
What we collect
In order to carry out the necessary arrangements required to organise the trips we run, the Company has a legitimate interest in certain specific data on people who take part in these trips. This data includes names, dates of birth and medical information. Typically, this information is collected via the person booking the canoes.
What we do with the information we gather
We only use this data to administrate your booking and we don't share this data with any third parties.
We may use personal data (of adults only) for marketing purposes, typically sales emails. However, all persons on whom we hold data have the right to opt-out of such material.
Security
We hold the data we obtain for your trip for seven years as recommended by our liability insurance. The data is stored securely and only accessible by management. After this period all paper-based material is destroyed, and electronic data are securely deleted.
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
How we use cookies
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive.
